What Is LiDAR?

LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) measures distance by illuminating a target with laser light and analyzing the reflected return. By scanning thousands of laser pulses per second across the environment, LiDAR sensors create dense 3D point clouds that give autonomous systems a precise, real-time understanding of their surroundings — day or night, in rain, fog, and dust.

Dense 3D Point Clouds
Millions of points per second create detailed 3D maps of the environment in real time.
Long-Range Detection
Detect vehicles, pedestrians, and obstacles at distances up to 240 m.
All-Condition Operation
Active sensing works in darkness, direct sunlight, rain, fog, and dust.
Centimeter Accuracy
±2 cm range accuracy for precise object localization and mapping.

Core Technology

RoboSense develops their own LiDAR chip technology in-house, including SPAD receivers and VCSEL emitters. This vertical integration delivers sensors with industry-leading performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Digital LiDAR Architecture

Proprietary SPAD-SoC chip technology with 2D VCSEL arrays for higher sensitivity, longer range, and better interference rejection than analog systems.

All-Weather Perception

Advanced signal processing handles rain, fog, dust, and high-reflection blooming — maintaining reliable detection in real-world conditions.

AI Perception Software

RS-LiDAR-Perception software provides real-time 3D object detection, classification, and tracking directly from raw point cloud data on edge computing platforms.
